Oils for Children

Best practice when using essential oils on children involves dilution.

It is recommended that when using the oils with a child under 2 years old, you dilute each drop of essential oil with 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil (Fractionated coconut oil, olive oil, etc.).
**Dilution ratio: 1 drop essential oil: 1 Tbsp carrier oil

The recommendation for using the oils with children from 2 to 6 years old is to dilute each drop of essential oil with 1 teaspoon of a carrier oil.
**Dilution ratio:  1 drop essential oil: 1 tsp carrier oil

For me, when it comes to oils that I use with my little ones daily, I find it easiest to make pre-diluted roller bottles.  We have a number of frequently used  roller bottles for our children (each one already diluted with Fractionated Coconut Oil, which you can purchase through your oil company or on Amazon).  I often use Cedarwood or Lavender on my baby's feet at night to help him unwind and relax, and we use Peppermint to promote respiratory health and help regulate his body temperature when needed.

I buy my roller bottles HERE.
